Abbasi Calls Shah, Seeks Support for Election


Islamabad (July 31, 2017): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominee for the Prime Minister Shahdid Khaqab Abbasi on Monday contacted Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah.

As per details, Abbasi requested the Opposition Leader to support him in election of leader of the house in the National Assembly.

Sources said that Shah refused to support PML-N candidate.

They said that Shah instead of assuring Abbasi of support asked him to support him (Shah) as he was also candidate of his party for the coveted post.

Meanwhile, senior PML-N leaders Abdul Qadir Baloch and Aftab Sheikh met Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah at his chamber.

The PML-N leaders reportedly requested Shah to support PML-N nominee for the premiership.

It is to be mentioned here that polling to elect a new Prime Minister to replace Nawaz Sharif will be held on Tuesday at National Assembly hall.
