Islamabad: An accountability court of Islamabad has allowed PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal to appear before the court on his wish untill the reference is filled against him in the Norowal Sports City corruption case.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of the AC heard the case of Norowal Sports City corruption case.
At the start of the hearing the investigative officer of the NAB informed the court on its questioning that the draft of the reference has been sent to the NAB headquarter for an approval while the court will be informed after approval of the Chairman NAB.
On the occasion, the counsel of Ahsan Iqbal said that his client was sent to jail and given his physical remand as well but the anti-corruption body could not file the reference. While Chairman NAB despite the court orders could not present any clarification for not filing the reference adding that the NAB used to linger sword of arrest and it should not be happened.
To this, Judge Muhammad Bashir said “you have taken too much class of the NAB today” later the court allowed the accused to appear before the court on his wish untill the reference is filed against him.
