Islamabad: Accountability Court (AC) of Islamabad has issued a bailable warrant of PPP’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the toshakhana case and rejected his petition seeking exemption from the appearance while the court also initiated a process to declare PML-N’s Lifetime chief Nawaz Sharif as proclaim offender.

The AC Judge Asghar Ali heard the toshsakhana reference case while Asif Ali Zardari counsel Farooq H Nayek appeared before the court to present his client.

The court rejected Asif Ali Zardari petition requesting exemption from the appearance while his counsel appealed the court not to issue his bailable warrants as he will appear before the court on the next hearing. He said that as a senior lawyer ” I am giving undertaking which is a big thing as Asif Zardari is a former president and he is not running away anywhere.”

To which, Judge said that he has ordered already and it will be not withdrawn adding that the court had issued summon after taking your’s client address from you despite that he (Asif Zardari) didn’t appear before the court.

The NAB presented a report regarding sending summon to Nawaz Sharif in London while the court has been informed that currently Nawaz Sharif is in London and he has been sent a warrant through the foreign office.

The court expressed dissatisfaction over the NAB’s report while the judge said that no implementation was made on non-bailable warrants of Nawaz Sharif and he (Nawaz Sharif ) is not becoming part of the court proceedings deliberately.

The court adjourned the hearing until August 17.
