Lahore (August 11, 2017): The PMLN local leaders, workers, supporters, and sympathizers are anxiously awaiting to accord the warmest of welcome to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif when he arrives in his hometown first time since forced to abdicate power after the five-member bench of the apex Supreme Court declared him disqualified him in Panamagate case.
The PMLN cadres have made all the preparations to welcome Nawaz Sharif. All the major thoroughfares of Lahore have been bedecked by banners expressing solidarity with the former prime minister.
Meanwhile, the pro-Nawaz banners hoisted in and around Governor House and Chief Minister House here were blackened and thrown ink by unidentified persons. The blackening of the banners puts a question mark about the security arrangements made for the former prime minister on his arrival in his home city.
Meanwhile, police contingents from other districts of Punjab province have also been summoned to further beef up the security arrangements for Nawaz’s homecoming to Lahore. Police contingents from Multan, Sahiwal, and Vehari have already arrived in Lahore. Personnel from Punjab Constabulary have also been called to Lahore and it too has arrived in provincial capital.
