ADELAIDE: Adelaide Strikers defeated Melbourne Renegades by one run on Friday to reach the final of Big Bash League (BBL) 2017-18.
Adelaide Strikers, opting to bat first after winning the toss in the second semi-final, scored 178/5 in their 20 overs with skipper Travis Head and Jake Weatherald scoring half centuries.
Head struck 57 runs from 57 balls with eight boundaries and a six to his name while Weatherald made 57 runs from 43 balls with the help of seven fours and a maximum.
Jono Dean made 19 runs for the team after hitting a four and two sixes.
Chris Tremain, Joe Mennie, Jack Wildermuth, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard grabbed a wicket each for Melbourne Renegades.
The Renegades scored 177/4 from 20 overs.
Marcus Harris made 45 runs from 29 balls with the help of four boundaries and two maximums while Tom Cooper scored 36 runs with three fours to his name. Kieron Pollard made 29 runs in the match.
Travis Head, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan and Ben Laughlin grabbed a wicket each for Adelaide Strikers in the semifinal.
