Ambassador Urges Int’l Community to Take Notice of ‘Extreme Human Crisis’ in Kashmir

WASHINGTON: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the United States, Dr Asad Majeed Khan has urged the international community to take notice of the current scenario in Indian-held Kashmir where “extreme human crisis” is underway.

Speaking to newsmen in the US on Sunday, Dr Asad said that India should be coerced into withdrawing the revocation of Article 370 which witnessed heightened restrictions in the occupied region.

“Modi-led Indian government has imprisoned 90 lac Kashmiris. Independent observers were sent to Indian-occupied Kashmir. The international community must force India to take back its decision of scrapping the Article”, he said.

The Pakistani Ambassador said that even US President Donald Trump had expressed concerned regarding Kashmir.

“Trump himself has offered to act as a mediator between Pakistan and India on three occasions to resolve the Kashmir dispute”, Dr Asad added.
