Lahore (August 29, 2017): The candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for NA-120 by poll has filed another petition in Election Commission to seek her disqualification for not submitting complete assets details.
The PPP candidate Faisal Mir has the stance that Kalsoom Nawaz, the ruling party PML-N candidate from NA-120, has mentioned ownership of jewelry costing one hundred thousand rupees in her assets details submitted to ECP that requires further assessment.
“The PML-N candidate Kalsoom Nawaz did not submit her complete asset details, therefore she should be declared disqualified for by polls,” he told the ECP in his request.A week ago an Election Tribunal rejected the petitions filed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) challenging Returning Officer’s decision to accept the nomination papers of Kulsoom Nawaz for NA-120 by-election.
The Tribunal comprising LHC judge heard the petitions filed by PPP and PAT candidate Faisal Mir and Ishtiaq Chaudhry, respectively.
After hearing the arguments of the counsels of the petitioners, the tribunal rejected the petitions.
