Lahore (September 28, 2017): A miscellaneous civil application was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) pleading the court to hear a petition filed for initiating contempt of court proceeding against PTI chief Imran Khan urgently.
The petitioner had moved LHC for initiating contempt of court proceeding against Imran Khan for holding long march on Islamabad in 2014 despite the court’s restraining order.
An LHC bench had restrained the PTI from holding long march in 2014 towards Islamabad. However, the PTI moved ahead with it planned rally and staged the famous 126-day long sit-in in Islamabad.
The petition was filed then seeking contempt of court proceeding against Imran for defying the court order.
As the petition is pending for a long period, a miscellaneous application was filed seeking the court to hear the cease on urgent basis.
The petitioner had made ECP and Imran Khan as respondent in his petition. The petitioner had submitted that Imran Khan committed contempt by holding the long march despite the court restraining order.
He had pleaded the court to initiate contempt of court case against the PTI chief.
