Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi (October 1, 2017): The Ashura, 10 Muharram, will be observed today, Sunday, with solemnity across the Pakistan amid stringent security.
The mourning procession will be held in major and small cities to pay homage to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companion they laid down in the way fighting against wicked rulers.
The law enforcement agencies have made the strict security arrangements and divided the security in three stages for the participants who intend to enter the main procession.
Sindh: The mobile phone service will be suspended and pillion riding will be banned during the 10 Muharram in Karachi and other major cities of Sindh.
The central procession will be converged from Nishter Park amid strict security. Strict security arrangements will be made for Hyderabad and pillion riding has banned for the day.
Alternative Route: According to traffic police the traffic coming to Soljar Bazar and Coast Guard will be diverted to Jubille after the procession, Traffic from Nazimabad to MA Jinnah Road will be to Garden from Lasbela. Traffic from Liaqatabad to MA Jinnah Road will be to Marton Road from Teen-Huti. Traffic from Gru Mandar will not be allowed to come at MA Jinnah Road as it will diverted to Shaher-e-Faisal from Kashmir Road and Society light signal. Traffic coming from Mazar-Quaid will be diverted from Buhadar Jang Road.
Punjab: The home department of Punjab has declared Rawalpindi and Lahore the most sensitive cities in its security plan for Ashura, 10th Murharram , as more than 146000 security personnel will perform duty on the day.
The Home department has designed the fool proof security plan for the Ashura to maintain law and order on the day.
According to details more than 146000 police personnel will be deployed across the province, while more then 20000 security, FC and Rangers personnel will also be deployed.
The procession and congregations, Majalis, will be monitored through Digital and aerial views.
According to Home department 8491 processon will be held on Ashura across the province as the Jaloos have been divided in three categories. A category 1221 procession were declared most sensitive, in category B 1846 and in category C 5400 procession have been included.
Home department has declaring Lahore and Rawalpindi most sensitive cities on Ashura has decided to suspend mobile phone service and ban on pillion riding. The procession organizers were directed to keep the procession in set routes.
The Director Rescue Dr Rizwan has directed all the district officers to make ensure emergency during the 9th and 10 Muharram procession.
Security Plan for Multan: CCPO Multan will himself monitor the security on 10 Muharram as 21 mourning procession and 8 mourning congregations have been declared most sensitive in Multan. More than 3000 police personnel and officials along with 2200 volunteers will perform the security duty. The security forces personnel will also take part in the Ashura security. Pillion riding will be banned and mobile phone services will be suspended during he day.
Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP): The youm-e-Ashor will be observed with solemnity across the province and several mourning processions will be held all the day. The city administration has imposed section 144 and banned pillion riding in Peshawar.
Balochistan: The pillion riding will also banned in Quetta and other major city of Balochistan. City administration has also imposed section 144 in entire province to avoid any untoward incident.
