Apart from the ZenFone 5/5Z (or the Fruit Phone X rivals) duo, ASUS also announced a mid-range smartphone, the ZenFone 5 Lite.
Design and Display
Gone is the notched display from the Zenfone 5 Lite, but it still comes with narrow bezels. The space on the top is filled in with another camera, bringing the total up to 4 (dual cameras, front and back).
The display is a 6-inch IPS LCD 1080p panel with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The phone has a glass back as well, giving it a seamless look.
Internals and Storage
Under the hood, you get a choice of either Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 430. You also get 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage or 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage.
On the OS side is Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5.0.
The front camera comes with a 20 MP camera plus a wide-angle lens (unknown resolution), while the back features a 16 MP camera with a secondary wide-angle lens, again with unspecified resolution.
Connectivity options include microUSB, NFC, and FM Radio, which is rarely seen today. Dual-SIM support is found in all versions.
Battery and Price
The battery capacity of the phone, which will be available in Black, White, and Red, is set at 3300 mAh. Pricing details are not known as of now. However, considering that the top of the line Zenfone 5Z costs EUR 479, expect the Zenfone 5 Lite to be under EUR 300 at least.
