New Delhi( August 13, 2017):At least six persons were killed and many are feared trapped in a massive landslide in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh an official said.
The landslide occurred around midnight and also damaged the Mandi-Pathankot national highway 154 at Kotrupi village of Padhar in Mandi district.
A bus and other vehicles are feared trapped in the debris. Five injured persons were taken to a hospital. People present on the spot said the rescue operation was affected by rains.
Six bodies were recovered from the site of the landslide. Mandi deputy commissioner Sandeep Kadam said the possibility of more deaths could not be ruled out.
“The army and NDRF have been called while police, home guard and fire services have already been deployed in the rescue and relief operation,” Kadam said.
