Australia Thrash England by 120-Runs in Second Test


Adelaide(December 6, 2017):  Australia has taken a 2-0 Ashes lead after fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc ripped through England in the first session on day five to secure a 120-run win in the Adelaide day-night Test.

Starc finished with five wickets but it was Josh Hazlewood who opened the cracks on Wednesday, hitting the tourists with the double blow of Chris Woakes (5) and the big one, captain Joe Root (67) in his first two overs.The Aussie quick had Woakes caught behind with the second ball of the day and ended Root’s superb captain’s knock – and England’s hopes – the following over.Nathan Lyon then had England all-rounder Moeen Ali out lbw for 2, before a Mitchell Starc thunderbolt trapped debutant Craig Overton for 7 to reduced the tourists to 7-207. Firing on all cylinders with the new ball, Starc then had Stuart Broad caught behind for 8 before ending Jonny Bairstow’s last stand when he had the England ‘keeper chopping on for 36.Set a target of 354 to win, England were all out for 233.
