Islamabad (December 4, 2017): The Central Development Working Party has approved twenty four projects worth over seventy billion rupees.
The approval was granted by CDWP meeting, which met in Islamabad on Monday with Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz in the chair.
CDWP has approved the 10.5 billion rupees package for the survival of railway which was severely damaged after the murder of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto on December 27, 2008.
The meeting approved seventeen projects worth 19.2 billion rupees and forwarded seven other mega projects worth 51.27 billion rupees to Executive Committee of National Economic Council for further approval.
Approved projects in various sectors include energy 18.6 billion rupees, water resources 5.8 billion, transport and communication 24.2 billion, science and technology 12.2 billion rupees, Health 8.3 billion, food and agriculture 3.8 billion rupees, physical planning 66.356 million rupees while projects worth 592 million rupees are related to culture, sports and tourism.
