Islamabad (September 28, 2017): Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah has initiated consultations with the opposition parties over the appointment of new chairman of National Accountability Bureau.
He also said that Jamaat-e-Islami has already proposed a name to fill the position.

Shah also said that he has consulted the matter with PTI and has also called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over it once. So far neither the prime minister nor the opposition has proposed a name, he added.
Saying that after consultations with all the opposition parties he would hand over the name unanimously agreed upon by all them to the prime minister Shah added that he opposition parties were also taken in confidence over all such matters in the past because his party PPP decides the national issues with consultations.
If the government and the Opposition fail o agree over the name for chairman NAB the issue will be put before the 12-member Parliamentary Committee which comprises six government and as may opposition members. The Committee will decide the through voting as per the rules.
Shah said that there is no truth in the names being run in the media to fill the slot of NAB chairman.
The term of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhary ends in November, 2017.
