KARACHI: A Chinese national was shot dead on Monday in Karachi in what police said an apparent incident of ‘target-killing’, Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, the incident occurred in upscale Zamzama area where unknown armed assailants driving a car fired shots on two Chinese citizens, who were coming out coming out of a shopping center.
One of the Chinese was injured while the other remained unhurt in the gun attack, police said, adding that a passerby, identified as Hassan Abbas, was wounded in firing.
The injured Chinese was rushed to Jinnah hospital where he died during treatment.
According to Dr. Seemi Jamali, the head of emergency department, the victim had received a single bullet on his head which proved fatal.
Police dubbed the attack as an incident of target-killing, recovering nine shells of 9mm bullet from the scene.
Meanwhile, IG Sindh and Home Minister Sindh Sohail Anwar Siyal took notice of the murder. Siyal also reached Jinnah hospital and sought report from relevant officials. – Samaa
