Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has instructed advance measures against locusts attacks in mid of June and July.
The CM Punjab has urged the provincial disaster managment authority and agriculture department to keep an eye on the issue at every minute.
Usman Buzdar said that he has instructed to carry out estiamtion of harm done by the locusts attack while he informed that every possible measures are being taken to control the locusts attack.
He said that funds of Rs one billion has been released for the erradication of the locusts attack and to save the crops adding that aerial spray as well as from vehicle has been continued to save crops.
The CM said that the spray has been conducted so far up to seven lakh 56 thouands acares of land adding that an effective survilliance of the locusts attacks in the affected districts is being continued.
He said that all the resources are being used to save farmers from harm and loss while he said that respective departments and institutions have to be alert in the given situation.
Usman Buzdar informed that control rooms have been set up at division and district levels and they are monitoring the situation around the clock.
