Islamabad (September 28, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said complete rehabilitation of Temporary Displaced Persons of FATA to their areas is foremost priority of the government.
The PM said that the government was focusing on mainstreaming of the tribal areas, he said during a briefing about the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far in rehabilitation of the displaced persons.
He lauded the sacrifices rendered by the tribal people in the fight against militancy.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister was briefed that 52.9 billion rupees have so far been spent on the rehabilitation of the displaced people of FATA while this process is going on.
It was informed that only 16,000 out of 2,37,000 TDP families are waiting for repatriation.
The Prime Minister was also briefed that 1.4 million registered Afghan refugees are still staying in Pakistan.
