Islamabad: An accountability court of Islamabad has given time to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file reference in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) against Shahid Khaqan Abbassi.
Judge Azam Khan heard the case related to awarding the contract of the LNG terminal to the favorite company while ex-premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, Uzma Adil and other accused in the case appeared before the court.
The NAB prosecutor Usman Mirza insisted the court give time to file supplementary reference as they found some new record in the case and it is being reviewed adding that they needed three to four months’ time to complete the reference.
The counsel of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shahid Khaqan Abbassi said that the NAB has been given the questioners for two years while it could not file a reference despite keeping his client in jail for six and half months.
The ex-premier advocate asserted that the case should be discharged or adjourned the hearing until the filing of the reference.
The court giving time to the NAB for filing of the reference adjourned the hearing until August 6.

The PML-N senior leader talking to media outside the court said that the NAB is being used to malign the politicians of the country.
