ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court on Wednesday has indicted Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Samaa reported.
Accountability Court heard reference against the finance minister for acquiring assets beyond his known sources of income. Judge Mohammad Basheer announced the charges to the finance minister.
Dar refused to accept the charges against him. “I am innocent and had not committed the crimes,” he told the court.
Dar submitted surety bond of Rs. 5 million due to which he will not be arrested.
Accountability Court had summoned Dar for the hearing and a trial will be started against him after he is indicted.
The officials have stopped the media persons from entering the court premises and the gates were also closed.
Sources said that the finance minister will be taken inside the court via back door of the building.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the fourth hearing of the reference regarding Dar’s assets beyond his level of income.
The court, in the previous hearing on 25th September, had issued the 23 volumes of reference.
