Karachi: The residents of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi on Monday protested outside Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) which runs the DHA, as the most part of it submerged in the rain-water of the devasting rains of last Thursday.
The rain-water could not be drained out from the DHA after passing of three days of rain for which the people living in the area took to streets and chanted slogans against the DHA administration.
The protestors tried to barged into the office on which a heavy contingent of police reached the CBC office while they tried to disperse the protestors .
The protesting people demanded that the current administration completely failed in providing facilities to the area residents and demanded removal of the existing administration immediately.
Meanwhile, some protestors entered into the CBC office after jumping from the main gate where they broke pots of the plants and vandalized other things in the office.
On the other hand, DIG South Javed Akbar Riyaz reached the office after airing of news on the media to hold talks between the protestors and CBC administration after airing of news on the media.
According to sources the protestors have presented three demands in front of the CBC administration first take measures to drain out rainwater accumulated in the DHA, secondly restore electricity in the area, and finally, they demanded the resignation of the administration.
