ECP adjourns contempt case hearing against PTI chief till Dec 18

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday postponed contempt of electoral code of conduct proceedings against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan till December 18.

A four- member commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza heard the proceedings and adjured the hearing as Imran Khan’s petition on the matter was pending in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

PTI counsel Babar Awan argued that his client had challenged the electoral laws in Islamabad High Court (IHC) and a judge is scheduled to hear the case on December 15.

ECP directed Babar Awan to present arguments on behalf of his client before the commission by December 18th. – APP
