Islamabad (December 5, 2017): The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided on Tuesday to use of watermarked ballot papers in next general election which will be held in 2018 as per constitution.
The decision was taken in ECP meeting held in Islamabad and presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza which was also attended by Managing Director Printing Corporation Press Pakistan, Security Printing Press Karachi and secretary postal services along with the officials from Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, secretary finance division and secretary cabinet division.
The meeting was briefed over the use of irremovable maker rather ink and ballot paper printing. The meeting has decided to use watermarked ballot paper during the next general election.
The ECP has directed the Pakistan Security Corporation for arrangements of purchase of watermarked paper.
