Eid Moon: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Comm. To Meet In Karachi Today


Karachi (June 13, 2018): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi on Thursday (Today) evening for Shawwal moon sighting under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.

Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that central Ruet-e-Hilal committee will meet on Thursday evening at Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi. Beside the Central Ruet-e-Hial Committee, zonal committees will hold meetings in major cities of the country to collect evidence regarding the sighting of Shawal moon.

A formal announcement regarding Eid-ul-Fitr will be made after collecting evidence of moon sighting from zonal offices in different parts of the country.

Earlier the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said there are visible chances of the Eid-ul-Fitr moon being sighted on June 15 (Friday).According to PMD, there are fewer chances of the moon being sighted on Thursday, June 14, with a chance of Eid-ul -Fitr being celebrated on Saturday, June 16 across Pakistan. According to Abdur Rasheed, director of PMD, duration for moon sighting is after 39 minutes of sunset.
