Web Desk(April 26, 2018): While many celebrities often choose to keep mum about significant issues and threats in the society, Farhan Akhtar has time and again, set himself apart from the herd.
The ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ actor never ceases to call a spade, a spade. This time around, he utilized his social media account to appreciate the court’s decision on the convict Asaram Bapu, who raped a 16-year old girl in his ashram. The actor urged people to even stop trolling that included PM Modi’s pictures alongside Asaram Bapu on social media.Farhan wrote on his Twitter account, “So, Asaram is a child rapist. And he has been found guilty. Good. But can people please stop sharing images of him with PM Modi. Patronising him before he was exposed to be a pervert is no crime. Let’s be fair and give him the benefit of doubt that he, like us, did not know.”
For the uninitiated, Asaram Bapu was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in his ashram along with two others. With the court’s decision being out, Asaram has been sentenced to imprisonment for life, the other two who were accused in the same case have been given a jail term for 20 years each.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar recently associated himself with a South movie ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’. Interestingly, he has sung for the South superstar Mahesh Babu. The movie also features Kiara Advani.
