Islamabad: A meeting of federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan is in progress in Islamabad.
It is discussing the overall economic situation of the country.
The meeting is also reviewing the steps taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 and the anti-locust operations launched in different districts against the crop devouring pests.
The federal cabinet meeting will review the nine-point agenda.
The huddle will review progress on the federal budget of 2020-2021 besides that the meeting will be briefed on the investigation of the PIA plane crash and the process of identification of bodies.
A joint briefing by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and officials of the Ministry of food security will be given to the sitting on the locusts’ attack on crops.
The cabinet agenda also includes granting permission to Asian Development Bank (ADB) to construct its office in Islamabad and the appointment of judicial officers.
The meeting will approve an extension to services of District and Session judge Muhammad Saad Qureshi as a Judge of Banking court on a deputation.
Besides the huddle will approve an appointment of Director General (DG) of the financial monitoring unit on deputation while it will also approve an appointment of Chairman of National Shipping Cooperation (NSC) while it will also approve an appointment of Managing Director (MD) of GHPL.
