Federal Cabinet to take oath today


Pakistan's former Petroleum Minister and Prime Minister designate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrives to attend the National Assembly session in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet is expected to take oath in Islamabad today (Wednesday), a day after PML-N’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was elected as Interim Prime Minister.

President Mamnoon Hussain will administer the oath of the newly elected Federal Ministers.

Abbasi took oath as the 28th Prime Minister of Pakistan yesterday at an impressive and dignified ceremony here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Earlier today, Abbasi arrived held a meeting with his party leader Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s Murree residence.

According to our correspondent, key political issues were discussed in the meeting between Abbasi and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.

Sources said induction of new ministers in federal cabinet and their portfolios were also discussed in the meeting that was also joined by PML-N leaders Ishaq Dar, Chaudhry Nisar and Shabaz Sharif.- Samaa
