Islamabad (July 15, 2017): Finally Interior minister Chaudhary Nisar’s rift with government ministers surfaced, following days of rebuffing and calling rumors, as his spokesperson turned down the statement which was quoting Ch Nisar by another minister during a private television show and termed it unrealistic and false.
“A minister during talks show of a private television is quoting the Interior Minister statement but he did give such statement as it is strongly condemnable and unrealistic,” spokesperson of Interior Minister Muhammad Aslam Shahid said in a statement.
He warned the ministers to stay away quoting Ch Nisar statement as it was false and far away from reality.
“Those ministers are airing such kind of statements who had put the government in dire consequences,” spokesperson said.
A day ago, spokesman for the Interior minister had claimed that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not walk out from the cabinet meeting chaired by the prime minister.
“We should avoid speculations and unrealistic comments with regard to the remarks of the interior minister during a cabinet meeting held on Thursday,” said the statement.
“There was no truth in news telecast on certain media channels in this regard,” added the spokesperson.
Interestingly, when a private TV channel, considered to be sympathetic to the government, reported that Chaudhry Nisar in the meeting had praised the government for maintaining transparency and said the prime minister would emerge from the crisis successfully, the interior minister sent it a strongly-worded rebuttal.
In his rebuttal, Chaudhry Nisar had denied the news report and said what he had stated in the meeting was the “opposite” of what the channel reported.
