Google Maps is often considered a must have app in your phone with people navigating their way around streets using the iconic app.
In certain areas, the dependence on Google maps is unparalleled, with satellite views, parking spots and live traffic updates. Google Maps is certainly a way to reach your destination.
With new updates every now and then, Google Maps serves in the most advanced way possible.
Their latest is quite an innovative update from its basic mapping emphasis. Not only does it tell you how to get somewhere but also when is the best time to make the journey.
The new feature is only currently available for Maps users on Android, and it pops up when you input directions. While showing you the usual estimated time and distance, a new bar graph appears, showing the relative time it will take your trip now (highlighted in either green, yellow, or red to indicate current traffic conditions) and an estimate of both how long it would have taken a half hour earlier and how long it will take in the next few hours.
Of course, this predictive feature may not always be precise, as in one instance it tells us that a journey half an earlier would have saved time but not by how much. however, it certainly is a step towards planning your journey more efficiently
That being said, it certainly is a step towards planning your journey more efficiently.
There’s no word yet when Google plans to bring this to iOS but it shouldn’t take long.
