ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet and the opposition are likely to reach consensus on the name of new Chief Election Commissioner. The government has taken back the name of former secretary ECP Babar Yakoob.
The government and the opposition members held a consultatory meeting to finalize the name of new CEC.
Both the sides will exchange new names for the Chief Election Commissioner on Friday.
The opposition members have claimed that they will reach a consensus on Saturday in this regard.
Pakistan People’s Party leader and the former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said both the sides have reached consensus on the names of two ECP members and only the name of new CEC has to be finalized.
