MOSCOW: Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Mohammad Asif said on Wednesday that he had a fruitful meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
This was stated by the Pakistani foreign minister in a tweet. Khawaja Asif said that the two diplomats had discussed regional and international issues particularly Afghanistan.
“Need for close cooperation on counter terrorism & eliminating drug trafficking,better trade/defence relations discussed,” he tweeted.

Pakistan and Russia are also celebrating the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
The two ministers had earlier met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York in September 2017.
Asif had arrived a day earlier in Russia for a four-day visit during which the two ministers are expected to discuss bilateral relations between Islamabad and Moscow.
