KHARTUM: Torrential rain and floods hitting Sudan in the last three weeks have killed more than 78 people, with hundreds of thousands forced to leave their houses.

The Nile River has burst its banks in Wadi Ramli in Sudan’s Khartoum state, destroying adjacent farmland.

The officials have ordered the shifting of people of six states to safer places in threats of the flood.
