LAHORE: Weather remained humid after scattered rain in the city on Sunday while the Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
The Met officials said seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and monsoon currents are penetrating southern parts of the country and likely to continue during next 2 to 3 days. They added that a shallow westerly wave is present along western and upper parts of the country and likely to affect during next few days.
The Met officials predicted rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) with gusty winds at a number of places in lower Sindh (Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Karachi divisions), Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Balochistan (Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Makran divisions),Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Bahawalpur, Malakand, Hazara, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. They predicted hot and humid weather elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall was also recorded in other cities including Sialkot (Cantt 23, A/P 02), Islamabad (Saidpur 06), Gujranwala (02 mm), Thatta (19 mm), Karachi (Gulshan e Hadid 15,Landhi 13.Faisal 08, Masroor, AP, North Karachi 06, Nazimabad 05, Saddar 03), Sh.Benazirabad and Hyderabad (12 mm), Mithi and Nagarparker (03 mm), Diplo and Chachoro (02 mm), Badin (01 mm), Khuzdar (18 mm), Sibbi and Zhob (17 mm), Lasbella (07 mm),Barkhan (01 mm) and Kakul (01 mm).Sunday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Sibbi where mercury reached 46°C while in Lahore it was 36°C, minimum was 27.7°C and humidity level was 52 per cent.
