KARACHI: At the Election Commission of Pakistan, Kamran Tessori said he had been sent by MQM-Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar to submit his nomination papers.
“My leader is Farooq Sattar and I am bound to follow his orders,” he said. “If he asks me to withdraw my name from the Senate elections nominations, I will.”
According to Tessori, a party head is like a captain. “It is the captain’s prerogative to choose to field whichever candidate he wants to. If he chooses someone, they must be having some qualities. Farooq Sattar has worked day and night in Karachi, Hyderabad and other urban areas of Sindh.”
When asked about the existing differences between Farooq Sattar and Rabita Committee, he said that differences can arise among brothers as well. “We must not abandon each other over differences,” he said.
