Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has expressed anger over interior ministry report over the case pertaining deporting US citizen Cynthia Ritchie and ordered to review the report.
Chief Justice IHC, Athar Minallah heard the petition seeking deporting of US citizen Cynthia D Ritchie.
The US woman journalist appeared in the court with her counsel while petitioner counsel Latif Khosa also attended the hearing.
During the course of the hearing, Athar Minallah remarked that serious allegations have been leveled by the woman journalist adding that the report informed “the woman is working with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and ISPR” while judge asked that was the government sleeping?
Chief Justice in his remarks said that wrong impression was given against the journalist in the interior ministry report adding that “you people are playing with the image of the country adding that secretary interior didn’t have any care of country’s image but the court has.”
Later the court ordered the secretary interior to review the report and adjourned the hearing till August 4.
