After his debut film in 2016 (Teri Meri Love Story), Omer has now signed his second film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
“When Nadeem Baig [JPNA 2 director] approached me for the film and told me about the character he wanted me to play, I say ‘yes’ because the script is really good,” the model told.
And his experience by far has been thrilling. “The script is fun, the dialogues are really good, [the film’s] been shot at the best of the best locations in Turkey, and my experience has been great with the entire team. Our first spell in Turkey is [now] complete and it’s been wonderful, such a professional team. I’ve developed good chemistry with the senior cast, the director and the entire crew.”
“Nadeem Baig is my favourite director, of course. The best part about him is that he gives you with a comfort level and makes you so confident that when you’re in front of the camera, you’re willing to perform well,” added Omer.
Working with the JPNA team, Omer has realised two things; that he wants to venture into acting and explore it further, and that he wants to do films with “good teams”.
“I would love to do more films with a good team – when you work with a good team [JPNA 2], you only want to work with good teams,” he said. “Fashion [modelling] is still going on. I need to be more selective and I want to work in television as well, I want to take up good projects.”
Omer revealed that the response to news of him joining the cast of JPNA 2has been fantastic. “People are looking forward to it [the film], they’re messaging me and saying now they will most definitely watch the film. People are expecting more and it’s important to meet their expectations because I’m focusing more and more on acting – film has a wider scope, so it’s not like only your looks will work, it’s your acting as well.”
The model hopes the sequel is received better than the prequel.
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 is slated to release on Eid ul Azha next year. The first spell of the film took place in Turkey and is now complete. The second spell is yet to start.
