Imran Khan is accused of using the helicopters — MI-17 and Ecureuil — for at least 74 hours.
The statements of Pervez Khattak and civil aviation authorities along with four senior bureaucrats including three administrative secretaries have already been recorded in the case.
An inquiry had been ordered against Khattak previously to ascertain if he had the power to hand over ‘sensitive’ assets such as choppers for non-governmental usage.
A press release issued by the bureau says that Khan paid Rs2.1 million for using the helicopters however; if he had used a private company’s choppers, it would have cost him an hourly fare of between Rs1m and Rs1.2m for the Mi-17, and between Rs0.5m and Rs0.6m for the Ecureuil.
However, Khan says that the official helicopters were not used for personal matters.
The helicopters were used by the former cricket star from Bani Gala to Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Batagram, Dir, Kumrat valley and other areas.
