DHOORKOT: PTI chief Imran Khan put forth allegations against incumbent Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday, claiming that the premier was safeguarding Nawaz Sharif’s ill-gotten wealth.
Addressing a rally of PTI supporters and workers at Dhoorkot, the cricketer-turned-politician blamed the government for pollution in the country.
“In order to ward off pollution, our government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa planted trees,” he said. “Now everyone is benefiting from that measure,” he added.
Imran lashed out at the government for failing to look after the country’s farmers. The PTI chief said that an investment in farmers always resulted in positive results for the whole country.
“We should learn from the example of India and China,” he said. “In India, they invest in their farmers which in turn results in an increase in their produce,” he added.
Imran said that when the farmers of the country were happy then they invested both their own money and efforts to boost the economy of the country.
“These people (Sharifs) plunder money from the country and then stash it abroad,” he said. “I urge you all never to vote for any politician who doesn’t have his wealth in the country,” added Imran.
Imran accused Nawaz Sharif of saving his own corruption and attacking the country’s security to do so. He blasted Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for providing protocol to Nawaz Sharif even after his disqualification.
“Why is a culprit being provided such a large protocol?” he asked. “Our jails are filled with petty thieves but influential crooks are free to roam about in this country,” he added.
Imran promised party workers that after coming into power PTI would plant trees and would invest heavily in farmers.
