ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has condemned India for “increasingly violating the UN charter in held-Kashmir”.
Speaking at the weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, spokesperson Nafees Zakaria claimed that at least 15 innocent Kashmiris had been martyred by India’s occupying forces in the held valley during the past week.
He termed the killings at the hands of Indian forces as ‘genocide’. “Indian policy of killing innocent Kashmiris is a part of a strategy, which is to break the spirit of the Kashmiris, alter the demography in Jammu and Kashmir and to convert it into a Muslim minority region from an overwhelming Muslim majority state,” Zakaria said.
According to the spokesperson, India was also trying to bring material change to the Indian-held Kashmir, which is a clear violation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution on Kashmir.
India, he said, is a grave violator of the UN charter and other UN instruments on human and fundamental rights.
