Indus Water Treaty Violation Will Create Regional Threats: Asif


Sialkot (August 6, 2017): Newly appointed Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif has said that there has been serious problems arising in Indus Water Treaty, while the treaty is confronting with serious issues, which is a regional threat for the peace in Subcontinent.

Talking to media in Muslim League House, Sialkot, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said that Indus Water Treaty is confronting with threats after 57 years have passed, while India and other countries specially United States are affecting the treaty.

He said that Pakistan wants to build good neighborly relations with India, adding that India is continuously violating ceasefire at the Line of Control. Khawaja Asif further said that India is also sponsoring terrorism at the Durand Line to create issues in Pakistan.

He told that there has been a positive development during meeting in Washington on June 28, while next meeting phase will be held in September.
