Islamabad (August 7, 2017): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has worked out its strategy regarding former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s travel to Lahore in a cavalcade through GT Road on Wednesday.
As per details, the initial route of the ousted prime minister’s rally was issued here on Monday.
The former PM, who is travelling to Lahore, his power base, for the first time after his ouster, intend to demonstrate his party’s show of power through the rally.
As per the schedule, Nawaz Sharif will depart for Lahore from D-Chowk in Islamabad at 9:00 am on Monday. The caravan will reach Zero Point through travelling Blue area.
At Zero Point, rallies coming from different areas will join the procession.
The caravan will go to Rawalpindi Sadder through Murree Road, where PML-N workers and supporters from Rawalpindi will welcome the former Prime Minister.
Sources said that Punjab Home Department officials had contacted PML-N leaders regarding the travel of the former prime minister and discussed issues regarding security of the cavalcade.
They said that the former prime minister will travel in a bullet proof vehicle and he will only be allowed to come out of the vehicle after security clearance.
The sources said that offices of PTI on GT Road will be closed and an assurance would be abstained from PTI leaders that they would not create any problem.
