Irfan Returns to Cricket after 6-Month Ban

Lahore (September 26, 2017): The fast bowler of national cricket squad Muhammad Irfan has joined the game after the expiry of six-month ban on September 14.

Irfan was suspended on March 14 after he was slapped with a six-month ban in the spot fixing case. A fine of Rs 1 million was also imposed on him.

Irfan returned back to domestic cricket today representing WAPDA squad in the undergoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy event played out at Qaddafi Stadium here.

Talking to media on the occasion Irfan said that he had waited anxiously for today. It feels as if I have returned back to the cricket after six years, Irfan said. Becoming the successful bowler of the event is my target, he added.

It may be mentioned here that Irfan was awarded one year punishment under the code of mutual agreement penalty. A five-year ban is being slapped on two other cricketers Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif.
