Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh recently reacted to the Mahira Khan-Ranbir Kapoor smoking controversy, stating that people should not judge the actress’ personal actions.
In a recent interview, the actor was sympathetic with the Pakistani beauty stating that the criticism she faced on social media was one of the things every celebrity has to face.
“This is one of the cons that come with being a star,” he said. “I can only speak about my own experience. There are times when I’m at a certain place with certain people and I don’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. But, you can’t help it.”
Ranveer Singh further said that such incidences should be taken by celebrities in stride since they enjoyed their line of work and made excellent earnings from it.
“You got to take the bad with the good. I get to do what I love to do and I make a lot of money. But some things are irritating and you’ve got to take them in your stride. It’s a crazy world,” he said.
With regard to the Pakistani actress smoking, this is what Ranveer said:-
“Everyone has their own interpretation. Everyone has their own set of values. Everyone has an opinion. You can hear them but you needn’t subscribe to them. At the end of the day, one should just live and let live and focus on more important things.”
He also spoke highly of Mahira Khan, terming her as a ‘great performer and an entertainer’.
“One should ideally just engage with her at just that level,” he said.
So here’s another Bollywood actor who has stood for Mahira Khan besides Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Will Mahira respond to this show of support?
