ISLAMABAD: Apart from other political parties like PPP and PML-N, the other opposition party Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) has decided to oppose the army act amendment bill on Friday.
The decision was taken in the party meeting presided over by the chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman and long discussion was held over the army act amendment bill.
Addressing a press conference, after the meeting, the JUI-F chief said that the party has decided to opposed and resist the army act amendment bill and will not allow the national assembly to pass such kind of bill.
“SC has directed the government to remove the shortcoming in the act but it is creating more flaws in the law,” he said adding that armed forces are country’s defence institute and its head should not be made controversial.
JUI-F chief complaint that PML-N should first consult other opposition parties as he had contacted earlier to PML-N for a consultation but it could not have happened, however, JUI-F will take its decision tomorrow either will part of voting or not.
