KARACHI: A senior traffic police officer and his gunman were killed in Karachi in a targeted attack, Samaa reported Friday.
According to our correspondent, DSP traffic of Azizabad, Muhammad Hanif, and his gunman, Sultan, were critically injured when two gunmen on a motorbike fired shots on their vehicle in a busy market area of Azizabad.
The traffic officials were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed hospital; however, they succumbed to injuries.
Police said 11 to 15 bullets were fired by the attackers in the shooting, but no empty shell was recovered from the scene.
Traffic policemen are a frequent target of miscreants in the city where police and Rangers have been conducting anti-criminal ‘Karachi operation’ since 2013. – Samaa
