ISLAMABAD:Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the international community to play its due role to rid the people of Occupied Kashmir from the Indian subjugation and suppression.
Addressing a news conference in New York after meeting UN Secretary General António Guterres, he said the issue of Kashmir is on the agenda of United Nations, which negates Indian stance that it is its internal issue.
The Foreign Minister thanked China for convening the UN Security Council session on prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir.
He said many countries have expressed their deep concern over the recent tensions between Pakistan and India.
About escalating tension between the United States and Iran in the Middle East, Shah Mahmood Qureshi categorically said that Pakistan will not become a party in the crisis, rather it will make efforts for peace in the region.
He stressed for urgent need to defuse tension in the Middle East saying the diplomacy should be given a chance to settle down the issues.
