The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has reduced the rate of sales tax to as low as 2 percent on 28 different services.

As per the details, the reduction in sales tax rate applies to restaurants and wedding halls, construction, catering, salons, online cab services, advertisements, consultant professional services, transport, and IT goods and services.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has advised the consumers to demand a sales tax invoice while obtaining the services. It further asked people to report to the authority if the service provider does not give them an invoice.

The consumers can contact on 091-9219202 and 0333-1421423 for information and complaints. Consumers can also report on official email, Twitter, and Facebook accounts of the authority.

The KPRA has reduced the rate of sales tax on mid-range restaurants and marriage halls from 15 percent to 8 percent. The sales tax on the catering service has been reduced from 15 percent to 10 percent and for small eateries (dhabas), it has come down to two percent from 15 percent.
