Live Updates: PTI’s thanksgiving rally in Islamabad



To celebrate Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama Papers case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is observing Thanksgiving Day on Sunday by holding a public meeting at Islamabad’s Parade Ground.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will address the gathering where thousands of his supporters will join him today evening amid strict security measures.

Nearly 1600 personnel of Islamabad Police have been deployed for the rally’s security.

A giant screen has been set up in front of the main stage at the venue where supporters have started pouring in.

The Supreme Court has disqualified Nawaz Sharif following an investigation into corruption allegations against his family.

The Supreme Court has ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file references against Nawaz Sharif, finance minister Ishaq Dar and Sharif’s son-in-law MNA Captain (retd) Safdar within 6 weeks and to decide these cases within 6 months.

References are also to be filed against Mr Sharif’s children. – Samaa
