Karachi (November 4, 2017): After joining Pakistan Sirzameen Party (PSP) and leaving MQM Pakistan, the deputy mayor Arshad Vohra has been deprived of security by his boss Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter.
According to details, Mayor directed to withdraw of city wardens, who were deployed on Arshad Vohra’s security. He also ordered Vohra’s secretary Fahim Baig to vacate the office.

Arshad Vohra has also started mulling over the resignation and he consulted close aides in this connection.
On the other hand, Mayor Waseem Akhter kicked off campaign for the alternative of Arshad Vohra after sensing losing of support of several MQM-P local bodies member.
He met with PML-N delegation led by parliamentary leader Amanullah Afridi in KMC building and took them in confidence regarding the election of deputy mayor.Vohra switched parties and joined the Mustafa Kamal-led Pakistan Sarzameen Party on October 29, stating that he was not able to deliver to the people of Karachi.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has resolved to search for legal options after defected member Arshad Vohra’s failure to resign from the office of Deputy Mayor.
The party plans to write to the Election Commission of Pakistan after its planned protest on Sunday, according to sources.
The letter will notify the ECP of Vohra’s departure from the party and will highlight an act of the local government law which allows a party to request ECP in case of an elected party member’s withdrawal.
“An elected member cannot continue to hold the office in case of a party’s objections or if the member leaves the party”, states the act according to the letter.
