Islamabad (August 31, 2017): Massive irregularities running in billions of rupee are being unearthed in Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) a cash payment plan to destitute families.
The report reveals that a mega sum of Rs 2.4454 was disbursed to 125,714 individuals verified fake by NADRA (National Alien Data Registration Authority). Not only the mega sum of cash was disbursed to the fake identity holders but despite NADRA’s verification of them being fake nothing was done to get the money reimbursed.
In addition, under the Waseela-e-Haq program another mega sum of Rs 1.795 billion was disbursed to 11,967 individuals as loans. But the loans was not recovered after the the program was closed. In all Rs 1.6 billion of the program were not returned back to the national treasury.
The loans was also not recovered from 1,487 individuals who received two installments of the loans under the Waseela-e-Haq program. A loss of Rs 18.3 million was caused to the national treasury from the non-returning of the loans.
In addition, 1,755 daily wage workers were made permanent without the approval of the Ministry of Finance and the Establishment Division.
