ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Friday passed a resolution to set up a special committee to probe allegations leveled by MNA Ayesha Gulali against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The resolution was moved by Arafa Khalid in the House.

Arafa Khalid said that the special committee would present its report within 60 days after holding inquiry into the allegation levelled by Ayesha Gulali reported in the media.

The committee would hold in-camera proceedings.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had requested the National Assembly Speaker to form a special committee to probe the allegations levelled by MNA Ayesha Gulalai against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Leader Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, senior PTI leader Shafqat Mahmood called the probe into Gulalai’s allegations

“PTI welcomes any probe into false allegations by A Gulalai but today’s NA resolution clearly shows Noon league hand behind this low campaign,” he said on Twitter.

“N leagues dirty tricks campaign comes as no surprise. After NS disqualification PTI had info that low campaign will b launched to target IK,” he said.

“This dirty tricks, low campaign by N league will continue as that’s its history. Remember attacks on BB, Begum Bhutto, Jemima and Dr Mazari,” he reacted.
